Each 25 cm Nazar artwork comes to life with 1,800 individually applied brushstrokes and gold leaf details. The handcrafted layers give every piece its own texture and character.

The Nazar Collection was born when Naz Kökbudak recognised the cycles formed by the thoughts, emotions and experiences that repeated in her own life. The artist related these inner cycles to the orbits of planets, forging a link between the human inner world and the cyclical order of the universe.
This awareness became a turning point in the artist’s work. As she reflected her cycles in her artworks, she began to see and make sense of her recurring patterns more clearly. According to Kökbudak, transformation begins with awareness. When people turn inward, they can notice the thoughts and behaviours that keep bringing them back to the same point; with this awareness they can step outside their cycles and begin to discover their own potential.
FORM AND MEANING
From the centre to the inner universe.
The centre of the collection represents a person’s turn towards their own self. The circular layers expanding around the centre evoke the cyclical structure of life and the universe. In Kökbudak’s interpretation, the nazar form becomes a passage that opens onto one’s inner universe.
According to the artist, every person’s inner journey is unique. For this reason, each artwork in the collection carries its own character through its form, colours, texture and layers.
FROM NAZAR TO THE COSMIC UNIVERSE
Nazar is the starting point of the bond Kökbudak builds between inner cycles and the universe, and of the cosmic narrative in her art. Beyond this door, the artist continues to explore the relationship between human inner transformation and the ever-changing nature of the universe through planets and cosmic forms in works such as My Mars, My Water Planet and My Sun. In this way, the Nazar Collection forms an intellectual foundation that guides her later work.
